"72" is about my frequent trips every week back and forth between Chatham and Champaign, where I went to college. I left Champaign and just jotted things down as I drove. Geolgraphical and other references are made throughout, from Friends Creek (30 miles outside Champaign) to Forsyth (half-way home), Doughboy (Heath Ramsey, friend), Leslie, and even getting a speeding ticket as I drove home.

Sailing reason, Creek of Friends, my thoughts a' reeling.

Far as naked eyes can see, life is groovy, all is blooming.

Just ask Mother Nature, don't just lick it, you gotta love it.

Forty ticks of the silver dollar within, Les peeps around the bend.

Doughboy will always know what to do.

Gotta get home, use I-72.

I'm skippin' on down the highway, I gotta get home, gotta see my baby.

Don't think twice, don't even say maybe, her golden soul electrifies me.

Our paths have crossed so many times my dear compadre.

Been through so much, you've seen so much, like a drinking buddy.

Forsyth, half way home. Been spreading myself thin.

Knock knock, who do you know, Leslie peeps around the bend.

Flashing lights, "Now slow down son, what do think you're trying to do?"

Gotta get home, use I-72.
