Appears on "Fumunda" (2000)
"Joe B." is about a longtime friend of mine, the one and only Joe Bickhaus. To be honest, I'm not quite sure why we always called him "Joe B." I guess that's a question for the ages.
For those of you who have met him, or even been to a show (he's always there), you know that this guy deserves a song if anybody does. Deserving more than just a song, Joe B. was featured on the cover of The Station's debut CD "Fumunda." Joe is one of those people whose personality just fills up an entire room. There were so many stories involving Joe I had to choose from, it easily could have been way too long. Plus, there are some events that didn't need to be documented, if you know what I mean! "Joe, we'll keep those between us, okay?"
Lyrics:
"take a roast in the White Ghost": Joe B. had this monster of a car we called the White Ghost we used to cruise around the metropolitan area of Chatham.
"tell a new joke to me": it seems like every time I hung out with Joe he'd have a new joke to tell me. (some a lot better than others!)
During a summer when we were in high school, Joe and I went to Six Flags and made one of those kareoke videos. There is a copy floating around somewhere of, what else?: "Born to be Wild"

Joe B. was the kind of guy who would always have the most.
Never find a better time North, South, East West, or coast to coast.
If I ever exchange the vows you can bet he'll be giving the toast.
Won't forget his immortal words, "take a roast from the white ghost."
Joe B. was the kind of guy who would always have a smoke.
Ready, willing, and able to tell a new joke.
Everyone listened to Joe when he spoke,
Especially when he'd tell a new joke.
Joe B., why don't you set me free and tell a new joke to me.
Tell a new joke to me Joe B.
Tell a new joke.
Six Flags was the place to be early in July.
Joe B. made it very clear out of the corner of his eye.
"Now you've known me much longer than awhile.
Don't you know that I was
Born to be Wild. Born to be Wild.
Me and Joe B. used to sit out by the pool.
Hanging out, drinking beer, thinking we were so cool.
Turns out we were nothing but a pack of fools.
We always laughed at Joe when he said "I rule!"
Joe B., why don't you set me free and tell a new joke to me.
Tell a new joke to me Joe B.
Tell a new joke.
