"Volcano" is about a break up with my first long-time girlfriend, Jenny. Lyrically, it's actually a poem that I found in my apartment in Champaign. It had been written several years prior. It's pretty straightforward as to how it all went down, filled with some of humanity's uglier emotions like anger, jealousy, and hopelessness.
Lying in the tall grass that summer day.
That's where she stole all my dreams sway. Didn't know how, when, or even why. Burning feeling it had all been a lie, a lie. Glisten cheeks stare up the tha howling moon. I try to lock my water falls in with a sigh. Bowing head in shame I try to run away. But the pain still me seems like, every single day. I said why? Please God tell me why. Was it a lie? Oh no please don't deny. I gave you the key to my soul. I gave you the key to my soul. You just threw it away. I said why? Please God tell me why. Was it a lie? Oh no please don't deny. I gave you the key to my soul. I gave you the key to my soul. You just threw it away.
