Bearcat
Debuted 11.01.02
"Bearcat" is the story of our first shows at the Bearcat Getaway in Lesterville Missouri (Black River Music Fest and the Euphio Campout, both summer of 2002). The lyrics are simply references to things that happened, conversations had, and general feelings about the wonderful weekends we spent. Several references to friends are made. Mary and Ryan came along and had a small remote controlled light that hung in their tent, references to several of the bands that we got to play with, a childhood friend of mine who spent several years overseas was discharged from the Air Force in New Mexico and drove straight to the the festival where our families had vacationed several times when we were little, us handing out loads of our live cds, and at the Euphio campout, the party that took place by the river in the late night fog with a fire, several instruments, and tons of friends.

Mary showed me the neo-hippie light.
Oh I must say it was nice and kinda bright.
Swimming in the river of memories,
These are the things I could never ever see.
Have a told you today how glad I am you came with me.
Smoke some Hookah, and some mellow Jazz.
Breaking bread with Brendan, Smokestack, knock you on your ass.
Then the darkness falls, on the came the night.
It was Darkstar to orchestrate the light.
Have I told you today you're my muse and my delight.
Well come on old friend, it's been quite awhile.
Haven't seen you burn one down, get to know our smiling style.
It may seen a little bit strange at first but give it time.
Bearcat Getaway, all is yours and mine.
The music tingles up and down my spine, we're all doing fine.
Paraded on down to the fog and we built a fire by the river.
Played some music had a good time I can't deny for the rhythm.
Making music in my dreams with friends, I'm right with em.
I hope this night never ends, this must be heaven.
Have I told you today how glad I am you came with me.
Soon the sleepless had to face the sun.
Seeing those sycamore trees, they melt and sway as one.
Then my sweat and tears are passed out one by one.
Man am I glad I stuck around.
Man am I glad everybody choose to stay in town.
Man am I glad we got drunk and got down.
