Milk and Honey
Debuted 10.28.00
Took a hike up to Camel Rock to see what she could see.
On cliff's edge she stood, fell down on bended knee.
Dear God what have we done?
We're surrounded by a force of nature now, don't you see?
We've turned this great land into a factory.
Dear God what have we done?
And as we stood there in the sun,
We figured out we're not the only one.
Then the tears came down.
She was screaming out:
"Mother Nature I'd like to apologize for these deeds,
They'll be our own demise.
We've raped your land and slapped its care-taker.
Fought our neighbor, denied our Maker.
This was supposed to be the land of Milk and Honey.
Now we've turned it into filth and money".
Weigh heavy you own deeds, they're being counted.
Make only what you need, give back to your surroundings.
Dear God what have we done?
And as we stood there walking by the sun,
We figured out we're no longer owned by one.
That's when her arms went in the air, threw her arms in the air,
Tears came down, came down her face,
She was screaming out,
"Mother Nature I tried to apologize for these deeds,
They'll be our own demise.
We raped your land and slapped its care-taker.
Fought our neighbor, denied our Maker.
This was supposed to be the land of Milk and Honey.
Now we've turned it into filth and money".
